SlabReady ("we", "our", "us") is operated by BJVA LLC. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. What We Collect
Card photos and scan media. When you scan a card, binder page, or Quick Buy card, the app captures photos using your device camera. These images are sent to our servers and AI providers so we can identify the card, estimate condition, calculate centering, detect defects, and return grading or pricing results. Ordinary grading images are not kept longer than needed to process the scan, except where a feature requires retention, such as listing thumbnails, direct-message photo attachments, photo requests, feedback or misidentification reports, and card fingerprint evidence.
Device and app metadata. We collect device model, OS version, app version, device identifier, scan/session IDs, timing, error logs, and similar diagnostic metadata. This helps us enforce scan credits, troubleshoot failures, prevent abuse, and improve the service.
Motion data. The app uses your device's motion sensors (accelerometer/gyroscope) during capture to detect phone angle and stability. Motion readings are used for guided capture and are not stored as a standalone profile.
Scan results and card data. Scan results, grading predictions, defect notes, pricing data, centering measurements, expected-value calculations, fingerprints, and portfolio records may be stored locally on your device. We also store server-side scan/session records and aggregate quality metrics to maintain and improve the grading system.
Profile, dealer, and marketplace data. If you create a profile, register as a dealer, list a card for sale, add cards to a wishlist, send messages, request offers, or use Quick Buy, we collect the information needed for those features. This may include business or display name, contact name, email, phone, website, city, state, ZIP code, payment handles, card listing details, sale records, message text, photo attachments, reviews, and related timestamps.
Purchase data. Scan credit purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive App Store transaction data or signed purchase payloads to validate credits and prevent duplicate redemptions. We do not receive your credit card number or Apple ID.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To analyze card images and return grading, identification, pricing, and binder scan results
- To manage scan credits, purchase validation, restores, and abuse prevention
- To operate profiles, dealer registration, wishlists, offers, listings, direct messages, reviews, Quick Buy, and sales history
- To generate card fingerprints and verification records for marketplace trust and dispute prevention
- To diagnose bugs, measure app reliability, and improve AI grading accuracy
- To contact you about dealer registration, offer activity, photo requests, support issues, or policy updates when needed
3. Third-Party Services
We use third-party services to operate SlabReady:
- Anthropic (Claude AI) - analyzes card images and scan prompts for grading and card identification.
- Google Gemini - may analyze card images and scan prompts for grading and card identification.
- Groq - used for fast card identification, binder scanning, and Quick Buy image analysis.
- Apple - processes App Store purchases and provides signed transaction information for validation.
- Railway - hosts SlabReady backend infrastructure and databases.
- Sentry - collects crash reports and diagnostic events so we can fix app errors.
- PostHog - collects product analytics events so we can understand feature usage and improve the app.
- Resend - sends transactional emails for dealer registration, offer activity, and support workflows.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
4. Data Storage and Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on cloud infrastructure. Card images and marketplace media may be stored in application databases or object storage when required for the feature you use. We use access controls and operational safeguards designed to protect the data, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
- Ordinary grading images: Kept only as long as needed to process the scan, unless submitted through a retained feature.
- Listing, message, offer, feedback, photo-request, and fingerprint media: Retained while needed to provide the related feature, maintain marketplace records, handle support, or prevent fraud.
- Scan results: Stored on your device until you delete them or delete the app. Server-side scan/session data may be retained for up to 12 months for quality, security, and diagnostics.
- Profiles, dealer records, wishlists, listings, messages, reviews, and sales records: Retained while your profile or related records remain active, and for a reasonable period afterward for support, security, accounting, or legal needs.
- Diagnostic logs: Retained for up to 90 days unless needed longer to investigate a security, billing, or reliability issue.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You can delete locally stored scan data by deleting it in the app or deleting the app. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of server-side data associated with your device, profile, dealer registration, listing, or messages, contact us at support@slabready.online. We may need information from you to verify the request.
7. Children's Privacy
SlabReady is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
